Album Cover Exercise

THE ALBUM GAME

The following is a short in-class exercise that will assist your tutor to get a sense of your basic digital image editing skills.

This is a non-assessable task – just a bit of fun.

1) Click Link:

The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band or artist.

2) Click Link:
http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four or five words of the last quote on the page is the title of your album.

3) Click Link:
http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days
The third and fifth picture, no matter what, are the images you will combine for your album cover.

4) Create your composition, demonstrating a non-destructive workflow with use of layers, layer masks, clean pixel selelctions and adjustment layers

Crop the image square (hold down the SHIFT button whilst you use the crop tool),
incorporate the Name of your Band/Artist and the Title of your Album into your composite.

Let’s make the images consistent. Make them 1024 x 1024 pixels.

Save 2 copies – one as a tiff and another as a jpeg.
